Slow is the fast way

It is not you, it is the tempo

Half the beginners who tell me they sound terrible are playing everything at the speed they hear it in their head. Halve it. The notes are all there; they just need room.

Practise slowly enough that you never once stop. Speed comes from that, not from trying to be fast.
